Faculty Muamalat and Islamic Finance

In order to achieve its goal and to broaden its scope of study, Faculty of Muamalat & Islamic Finance was established on October 1st, 2019 as a new faculty in Islamic University College of Perlis or Kolej Universiti Islam Perlis (KUIPs) to continuously provide innovative and effective business management related to Muamalat, Islamic finance, Islamic economics and Islamic management. This Faculty aims to produce civilized thinkers (Ulul Albab) and future leaders (Khalifah) with broad Islamic international view, excellent decision making abilities and capable of executing changes for the betterment of business, society, and environment.

The Faculty is also expected to be able to further develop the spirit of Islam by opening up space for researchers and educators to study, do research and disseminate knowledge related to Muamalat and Islamic Finance. The area of Muamalat is one of the areas enjoined in Islam since the time of Rasulullah SAW.

In addition to providing guidance to Muslims about their relationships with fellow human beings, the field of Muamalat also serves to arrange and organize the structure and administration of human management. The progress of a society will be measured not only in terms of its level of faith but also to its endeavors in this world.  Modern and progressive Islamic societies today, must not only have high knowledge in terms of Tawhid and Maqasid Syariah but also need the knowledge of Muamalat, for the sake of his well-being in this world and in the Hereafter. Allah said: “As guidance and a reminder for those of understanding” (Surah Ghafir verse 54).

The Faculty is also proud to be a “garden of knowledge” that has a comprehensive pool of lectures in various aspects of Islamic business management such as Shariah advisory, Islamic finance and banking, Islamic economics, Islamic accounting, Islamic entrepreneurship, Islamic human resource management, Islamic management, Islamic marketing, zakat management, Baitulmal management, Halal management and etc.

Become a “pioneer of change” in harmonizing the personality of students and academic excellence in line with the vision and mission of the university to produce individuals who are knowledgeable and competent work at International standard.

Committed to serve a “garden of knowledge” that is preferred and referred to the field of Muamalat and Islamic Finance through a program of study that meets the needs of stakeholders as well as academic output that is relevant to the needs of the global community and industry.

  • Conduct world-class and quality research, study and service programs to produce graduates, scholars and scientists who are balanced in knowledge, devotion to Allah SWT and love for the country and its people;
  • Explore, develop and expand Muamalat and Islamic Finance through research conferences and publications to pioneer and utilize knowledge for community and nation development, in line with the pure and perfect Islamic teachings.
  • Cultivate and internalize devoted, moral, ethical and responsible human values, based on pure values of Islam to all its community, including students, graduates, scholars, academicians, officers and support staff, in order to contribute to the development of religion, country and society.
  • Nurture community of students and scientists for a high level of competitiveness either locally or globally, who are mutually respectful, consistent and able to be independent to produce modern and progressive Muslim individuals.
  • Establish rapport with all levels of society, industry, government, and professional bodies to foster collaboration and jointly contribute to the safety and well-being of all.
